Today started great and just got better.
This is my "saintastic" friend who spent the night at the hospital so I could spend time with the rest
of the family (and as a bonus, get a good night's sleep and a long shower).
Melanie Clark told me other than whimpering a bit here and there and
grinding his teeth, our boy slept great.
By the time Dr. Hansen came around, Kean was in full dazzle mode.
He was happy, looked good, actually stood up and even opened his mouth so
the doctor could look at his sores.
His plan must've worked 'cause Dr. Hansen said we could go home!
My mom couldn't get there fast enough with the car and car seat.
Kean was so happy to be home, to be able to crawl around on the floor and
to take a nap in his crib.
But he saved his most excitement for Byron and the girls.
Well, maybe I exaggerate. He wasn't so thrilled to see Reese.
If you have been a long time reader of this blog, you will know
that now that Kean is big enough to "fight back"... he is letting us
know he wants his space from Reese.
Shall we say, Reese has for the last three years gone a bit overboard
with the mothering thing. We like to say she does her own version
of smothering instead of mothering.
Tonight is the perfect night for him to be home and adjust back to civilian life-- from quiet to chaos.
Greer is at a birthday party until late tonight and our darling friend, Lauren Riggs
(in the middle) and her friend Kayla took Holland and Reese out for a date to
dinner and a movie.
It is so nice to be home after nearly two weeks in the hospital.
Let's just hope we can stay here for a while.
Please insert big ol' sigh here.

So glad you guys are home! I cracked the door Wednesday morning before I left but it was dark and quiet in there. Give Kean a hug from me!
