We had another remotely good day. While Kean has his moments, we are catching more and more
glimpses of his happy old self. Too bad we have to start all over again with Chemo in a few days.
He is still fixated on all things popcorn. In fact, I daresay he'd eat popcorn for breakfast,
lunch and dinner if allowed.
I continue to be overwhelmed by the love and support we have been showered with.
I got an email last night from a cameraman I worked with twenty years ago in North Carolina.
Dave Wertheimer offered to use his miles and vacation time to come out here and be my "chauffeur, maid, errand boy-- you name it". And then today, one of our neighbors came by-- John Witte
and his 14 year old son, Matt, who also has Down syndrome.
They'd heard about Kean and brought us a giant cheesecake covered in strawberries and an apple pie.
I figure at this rate, we'll be joining Kean and become a family of "moon faces".
Seriously, I need to remember this... so that in the future when I am at a loss for what I can do for a family in need, I'll remember these sweet acts of service.
