Two Steps Forward

I have a lovely example as to why medical costs have spiraled out of control.
Kean has been on an oral Chemo drug at night for the past month.  Tomorrow night is his last
night on the drug for now.  But the drug, once mixed, only lasts 14 days.  It expired tonight.
So get this, I have to get a refill for just the one night (even though there is still plenty in the bottle) and
the hospital pharmacy can't give me a small amount, they have to give me a full bottle.
What a waste-- and none of the meds Kean is on are cheap!
Momma Gump came again for therapy today.
We so love her visits.
He's making great progress with his fine motor skills
and he spent at least ten or fifteen minutes doing a little
"dancing" therapy.
Have I told you how much this boy loves music?
The other big visit this afternoon came from Kean's prosthetic specialist.
She came to the house to fit our boy with his brand spankin' new leg braces.
Keanut Gump is back.  He had outgrown his old AFO's and was scheduled to get
new ones the day after he was diagnosed with Cancer.
Clearly, that appointment never happened.
And now they come to the house instead of us going to the clinic.
But with his new babies, he should have the support he needs to get back to where he was before he got sick:
close to walking.
I didn't take a picture of his new braces but I did take a pic of his feet.
You can see how his ankles roll in and therefore, why he needs the help.
Stay tuned.
He's getting stronger every day and hopefully will be walking up a storm
one of these days.
Off to the hospital tomorrow.
Keep your fingers crossed his counts are high enough to start the next round of Chemo.
I want this over with!
