Dancing Queens

For a boy who never gets out of the house, Kean is sure making the rounds.
Last night, he stayed home with Pops, while we girls headed over to Boise State University.
The students there were sponsoring a Dance Marathon to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network
and St. Luke's Pediatrics.
They had about 350 participants... dancing for 17 hours straight.
The hospital had called us and asked if we'd let one of the six teams dance in honor of Keanut.
Of course we said yes.
And are we glad we did.
It was quite the night.

When we got there, they had posters with pictures of the honorees and write ups.
They had all kinds of fun activities (for breaks from the dancing)... such as a photo booth,
 a giant Twister game...
and one of those blow ups where the kids harness up, run full blast
and get zinged back by a bungee cord.
The college students were so cute with the girls.
At first, the Barkettes just wanted to watch (especially Reese)...
but literally, within minutes, they were out there looking like mini sorority sisters.
It was so funny, on our way there, the girls weren't so sure about the event and
even asked how long we had to stay.
It was 11:30 at night... by the time I could drag them out of there!
And if they had their druthers, they would have stayed all night.
The girls were in there dancing, doing the limbo contest and line dancing.
I had several students offer to come babysit-- they were all so cute.
They had the basketball team make an appearance to encourage the dancers and they had three
of us families get up and tell our stories.
It's kind of crazy, Kean has this huge fan club of folks he's never met.
I can't wait for the day when he can attend some of these activities and charm everyone in person.
