Bowling Beauties

We pretty much hung out as a family today.
For the LDS church, this weekend marked General Conference
where church leaders give talks and luckily for us, it was on television in our area.
So it was truly a day of rest-- and boy, did we need it.
Saturday was one of those run and gun days.
Byron kept Kean busy helping out on the lawn mower...
(or perhaps I should say Kean kept Byron busy).

In the afternoon, the three girls got to go bowling with a large group of
children who are fighting or have survived Cancer and their siblings.
Of course, Kean had to stay home-- but the girls had a grand time.
 They were divided into teams--
Holland played with and became fast friends with Brenna--- an eleven year old
who has just finished Chemotherapy for the same kind of Cancer Kean has.
She was also honored (and spoke) at the BSU Dance Marathon on Friday night.
Reese played with Lindsay, a brain tumor survivor-- who we all
fell in love with.  Reese wasn't the best bowler but she did inform me she is a "winner"...
since she won at gift card raffle for Coldstone Creamery.
And Greer came in second place on her team (of four) in all the games she bowled.
All the kids got cute little t-shirts, trophies and certificates.
The American Cancer Society's Camp Rainbow Gold put the event on
and it was wonderful.  The girls made lots of new friends
and were treated like heroes.
And I guess, in a way they are.  They are a huge part of
this battle against Cancer-- it affects their lives too.
They are resilient, brave and best of all, almost always kind and loving
to their baby brother.
Almost always-- they are, afterall, kids!
