The Spoiling Machines

I took Kean by the "Motorcycle Men's" office to give them
their Christmas presents (and to get and give a few hugs).  Kean was totally into it--
showing off his newly acquired smooth walking skills.
Motorcycle Jeff (aka - the Spoiling Machine) had a present
of his own for the boy--
one that was quite the hit-- and bound to be a favorite
for the next few years--
a bonafide biker jacket just like the big boys wear!
Fur lined to keep him toasty warm.
And can I tell you it fits perfectly and he has worn it a ton,
except when I get out my phone to take a picture of him in it--
then it is off in a flash.  Go figure.
Motorcycle Jeff's spoiling didn't stop there.
Look what he gave each of the girls.
Can't get any cooler, eh?
As if Kean isn't getting enough love,
look who came over tonight?
Kean's buddy, Axe (Alex), also bearing a gift.
He got him a Matchbox racing track.
And, dang, I didn't capture his initial reaction the first time
the cars raced down the track-- Kean was tickled.
So you'll have to settle for this one-- let's just agree
that he will LOVE this toy!

Move Over Diane Sawyer

It looks like
we have a little girl following in her Mama's footsteps.
Reese's teacher sent me this mini newscast today.
She had to research and write her on set report.
She's our shy child-- and will likely be mortified that I posted this.
Gotta especially love how she spelled Channel 12.
(I worked for Channel 12 in Phoenix).
Kean's buddy, Alex (Axe) came over to hang out for a bit.
You should have seen our boy's face brighten right on up.
It's cold and rainy outside again-- so they mostly watched
Kean's latest obsession-- that old movie Spirit.
Between Tangled and Spirit, Kean is totally taken with the
horses.
Good thing Spirit was Alex's favorite movie when he was a young kid.
These two are gonna be fast friends.

The Axe

Today was one of the days I dread most.
Kean had his big hearing test-- the one
where they put him in a sound booth, hook contraptions
onto his shirt, stick probes in his ears and expect him to
sit still for oh, like forever, listen and react to sounds
while I hold his hands in a vice grip (to keep him from pulling
the probes out)!
He was totally in to walking and crawling up the ramp
to the sound booth-- but totally out when it came to the test.
Let's just say the doc only got a bit out of him before
he got totally fed up with me holding his hands down
and refused to cooperate.
The doc gave me the option of a sedated hearing test
(no thanks, he gets sedated enough as it is) or we can
"practice" an interactive hearing game at home and try
a new approach to the test in three months.
Ummm, we'll be practicing this little game to see if that works.
In case you were wondering, we both came home exhausted.
Alex Hill (from our church) came over again this evening
to play with Kean.
Thankfully, it was beautiful outside-- so four wheeler riding
it was... that and swinging and eating and just becoming fast friends.
It's the cutest thing ever-- oh, that and the fact that
Kean calls Alex "Axe".
