The Good and the Bad
Today was one of those days we just want to clone.
Kean was happy, ate decent, took his meds without complaint--
basically a no drama day (well except for that moment when
he smacked the little girl next to him at therapy-- sigh).
He and his Daddy went for a long motorcycle ride
on a near perfect afternoon.
This evening we all went out and started planting our garden.
Kean was quite the dirt chicken by the time we were done.
But we got a good start on things.
We have to take advantage of these moments.
Tomorrow, unfortunately, Kean has heavy Chemo at the hospital.
What a drag-- but once again it means we are another month
closer to being done.

The Pickers
Whoa... you should see my refrigerator.
I have buckets and buckets of strawberries, raspberries
and cherries.
This evening, our entire family (Kean supervised from his stroller)
went down to the Bodily's to help them pick all the cherries off their
three trees.
Let's just say there were enough cherries to supply a grocery store.
(If you visit my house or the Bodily's in the next few days, you'll likely leave with some of the red stuff).
This picking, came after the girls and I picked our strawberries
and raspberries this afternoon.
All that slave labor had to be rewarded--
so we made fresh raspberry shakes for the gang.
And all that supervising and taste testing
was quite wearing on the boy.
He tanked down that milkshake in nothing flat.
It will sure be interesting to see how much he weighs next week
at the hospital.
A few weeks ago, he was a whopping 35 pounds.
Reese, by the way, is 40 dripping wet.

Mickey, meet Holland. Holland, meet Mickey.
It is looking more and more like a trip to Disneyland is in our future.
Every few days, you'll find us up and at it in the Blackberry bushes...
The girls have quite the racket going-- getting mom and Grammy to help them pick so they
can sell the goods-- forget the stock market.
It's going all to the D.F. (Disneyland Fund).
We picked nearly ten gallons the other morning.
We'll be back at it tomorrow.
Please take special note... that those are berry stains, not bruises on Holland's face etc.
Don't worry, we're saving plenty for ourselves... I've made my favorite pie and put them
in just about everything else.
Dontcha just wish you lived here?
They taste as yummy as they look!

Life on the Farm
It sure feels like that sometimes! Between the dog, the rabbit, the owls and hawks in the trees, the fox on our back property, the occasional skunks, raccoons, badger, coyotes, deer and way too many gophers-- take a look at the uninvited guest that showed up in Zoe's water dish!
