Insert Sigh Here.

Phew.
I'm so glad I was wrong.
After being up all night with Kean coughing like a horse
and a steady fever, I thought for sure we'd get admitted
to the hospital today.
Luckily, by his afternoon appointment, his fever was gone and
his tight cough had lightened up a bit.
I didn't even mind unpacking the bag I had packed.
(Try saying that 10 times fast).
Kean cracked everyone up by motoring back all on his own
to the Vampire Chamber (the blood draw room).
My mom, broken foot, bruises and all went with us.
She did not want me going alone.  Love her!
Anyway, the verdict?  Kean has one of those nasty viruses
circulating around.  His counts all looked great except for his
Neutraphils (his ability to fight germs)-- they were crazy low.
Dr. Camilo figures it is because of the virus.  We'll
check them again in a few weeks.
And that was it-- we GOT TO GO HOME!
Sweet.
Finally, remember the woman in Kentucky who has been paired
with Kean and runs for him since he can't run for himself?
Look at this super cool picture of her nails.
She has a big "Blue Grass" race this weekend.
Love it and love her.
Thanks Clair.

From Down Under

Kean got a belated birthday box in the mail.
And I don't know who was more excited-- the boy or his gaggle of sisters.
The box was from his runner, Clair and her family.
Clair is a pediatrician in Lexington, Kentucky who was
paired with the Keanut man as part of a Facebook
organization called I RUN 4.
Since Kean doesn't run (let alone walk)-- Clair runs for him
almost daily and once in a while participates in marathons and races.
She sent him a medal from her latest race.
He's getting quite the collection.
She also sent all kinds of goodies and gifts--
a few favorites?  Hats for the girls from Australia
where Clair is originally from.
And this little guy--
a fighter she said-- for our fighter!!

Flying Pigs

Surprise, surprise.
Kean got his very own package in the mail.
The package contained a poster from the "When Pigs Fly" Marathon
in Cincinnati and his very own running medal.
This makes the third marathon medal his runner, Clair
has sent to him.  She's a mom, a pediatrician and a runner
in Lexington, Kentucky who runs on behalf of the Keanut man.
The organization ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/irunformichael/) on Facebook has taken off.
There are now thousands of runners waiting to be matched with a child
who cannot physically run for himself.
So if you know of any special needs kiddos or children
with health issues and challenges-- have them sign up!
We have loved this experience and can't wait to someday
meet Clair and her cute family.
