His Religion

Sunday's are always interesting around here.
We split up as a family-- Byron or I taking turns:  one takes the girls to church,
the other stays home with Keanut.
Then we head over to my folks for the family dinner.
Kean hasn't been to church in well over a year.
But I do believe he's found his religion.
Not to be sacrilegious, but to him, watching Cars is almost a spiritual
experience.  Or at least, that's what we joke.
You ask him what he wants to do or watch and he
reverently says Cars.
It's not like any other word in his vocabulary-- the others he blurts out...
but oh, Cars is always said with such reverence and deference.
In a sort of hallowed whisper.
And once the show is turned on...
he's all business.
When things get tense or exciting, those toes go right up into his mouth.
Really, it is something to behold.
If you notice, my kids are nowhere to be seen in the background.
It's only my niece and nephew-- who haven't had the distinct pleasure
of watching Cars and Cars II over and over and over again.
